Paola Revises Weight Loss Plan

Most girls my age got new shoes, accessories and cellphones for the start of school. I got new running shoes, workout videos and a scale for my weight loss program. As I wrote at the beginning of the summer, I’ve struggled with my weight for a very long time. I wanted to lose 20 pounds before school started. Unfortunately, I didn’t meet my goal, BUT I did lose 12 pounds.

I’m not letting this minor setback stop me from reaching my ultimate weight goal – 130 pounds. I looked at my progress journal to see what I was doing wrong. I had written down everything I ate, every time I worked out and how I felt after each workout. I noticed that I was eating too many little treats, such as small bags of chips, diet soda and other chemical-filled foods. Also, I was eating a lot of white bread, white pasta and other types of foods that were considered empty calories. I think this is what stopped me from losing more weight.

To fix that, I’m going to avoid white bread as often as I can and eat pasta once a week or twice at most. I’m also going to stop eating after 7 p.m. because eating too close to bedtime will actually make you gain weight because your body doesn’t burn the calories.

Another thing I’m going to do is the Power 90 constant workout program, which is a series of video workouts by Beach Body (a workout company.) Power 90 has four phases and challenges your body right when you start to get used to the workouts.

Power 90 also comes with a suggested meal plan that I’ll be sure to take into consideration. The reason I chose to do a constant workout program is because I can’t stand it when I’m behind on something. Power 90 will motivate me to exercise six days a week. I’ll lose weight faster and at a constant rate.

Since I didn’t meet my goal this summer, I’m going to keep trying hard to lose 30 pounds before December. Hopefully, I’ll be able to report that I made it, and I’m finally happy with my body!
